A man named Bakhtiar Uddin Manju (38) has been arrested with a foreign-made pistol and a large quantity of illegal items during an army raid in Fatikchhari, Chittagong.
The raid took place late Saturday night at Manju’s home in Gopalghata village under Lelang Union. The army recovered a foreign pistol, five pistol bullets, one magazine, 199 rounds of rifle ammunition, two shotgun cartridges, two bottles of foreign liquor, 13 mobile phones of various models, two passports, three knives, and several SIM cards.
According to army sources, the operation was carried out based on secret information. A team led by Major Saifur Rahman Turjo, commander of Khiram Army Camp, first searched the home of Md. Selim in Noa Haat area but found nothing. They then moved to Manju’s house, where the illegal weapons and equipment were discovered.
Bakhtiar Uddin Manju is currently in custody, and further investigation is underway to determine the source and purpose of the recovered items.
