Magura municipality announces Tk 50cr budget

The budget of Magura Municipality for the financial year 2020-21 was announced on Wednesday. The budget has allocated more than that of last financial year to prevent corona and dengue.

Magura Municipal Mayor Khurshid Haider Tutul announced the budget at noon in the municipal auditorium while Monira Begum, Councilor magura Municipality was  in the chair. 

Panel Mayor of Magura Municipality Maqbool Hasan Makul, General Secretary of Magura Press Club Shamim Ahmed, Journalist Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, Secretary of the Municipality Rezaul Karim and Accounting Officer Uday Shankar Roy spoke on the occasion.

In this year's budget, the total income has been taken as Tk 50 crore  5 lakh 50 thousand including development assistance allocation of Tk 2 crore 10 lakh. The total expenditure has been estimated at Tk 49.96 crore. The surplus has been estimated at Tk 6 lakh 60 thousand 164. 

The budget for the last financial year was Tk 40 crore 95 lakh 70 thousand. The budget has given more importance than before to prevent corona and dengue situation. 

In the next financial year, Tk 15 lakh has been allocated for corona prevention,  which is more than the previous budget of Tk 5 lakh. Tk 7 lakh 50 thousand has been allocated for dengue prevention instead of last year budget of 50 thousand. 

In this year's budget, Tk 11 crore has been proposed to allocate giving utmost importance to the entertainment sector like park and others. The second priority is the construction and maintenance of paved roads. About Tk 6 crore has been allocated here.
