A madrasa student named Md Shaukat Mia (11) was drowned while taking bath in Meghna river at Brahmanbaria Saraile recently.
The body was recovered from Deobaria area of Panishwahar Union of the Upazila.
According to local sources, the son of Akter Hossain of Purasunda village of Sayestaganj upazila of Habiganj district, along with Shaukat, a student of Deobaria Gauchia Sunnia Hafizia Madrasa of Panishwar union under Sarail police station, went to take bath in Meghna River. At one point while taking a bath, Shaukat drowned in the water and disappeared.
When his classmates did not find him and told the teachers at the madrasa, the body was recovered from the river.
