By being crazy through the emotion of love developed by a missed call of mobile phone, an under-aged teenage girl of Gazipur rushed to Bogura to meet her ‘beloved’ only to be violated by him.
Police on Friday arrested the alleged ‘treacherous’ accused Mafiul Islam Swapon alias Shuvo (25) son of Zahirul Islam of Baghopara-Sultanpara of Bogura sadar upazila. He also made a confessional statement under section 164 with the court on February 21 evening. By disguising himself and concealing his name and address, Mafiul was continuing relation with the girl through mobile phones by using SIM of others. Police said, Mafiul has two wives. Bogura sadar Police has also handed over the violated girl to her father. A case has been filed with the local police station in this connection.
Sonaton Chakravarty, Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura informed, the victim, a student of class VIII of a school of Joydevpur under Gazipur district developed a love affair with Mafiul through a source of a missed call. The girl is slightly visually impaired and can not even talk fluently. After several months of relation, the girl came out from her house telling her parents to attend school on 15 February morning and arrived in Bogura from Gazipur.
After arriving in Bogura, the girl called her 'so called' beloved through a phone of another passenger sitting beside her in the bus and met with Mafiul at Matidali crossing of the town. From there, they went to Mohasthangarh and after evening Mafiul raped her inside a jungle beside his house turning the girl ill and sick. Mafiul took her to TMSS Medical College Hospital but the hospital authorities advised him to take the girl to any government hospital when rapist Mafiul left the girl to Matidali crossing and managed to escape. Local people watching the girl suffering from illness informed police when police rushed to the spot and admitted her to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura informed, police arrested accused rapist Mafiul alias Swapon alias Shuvo on February-20 night and he made a confessional statement to police under section 164. The girl has been handed over to her father.
SM Badiuzzaman, Officer-in-charge of Bogura sadar thana informed, being directed from the Superintendent of Police of Bogura Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, Police arrested the accused rapist of the girl within a short span of time.
