Lohagora UP chairman arrested for killing predecessor

The main accused of murcer case of Awami League leader and former UP Chairman of Lohagara Union Parishad (UP) in Narail Badar Khandaker, 43, was arrested from Dhaka.  The arrestee is chairman of Lohagara Union Parishad and organizing secretary of Lohagara upazila unit Awami League Nazrul Shikdar, 46. He was arrested from Jigatla area in the capital city  on Wednesday night. 

Investigating officer of the case Sub Inspector of Lohagara Police Station (SI) Milton Kumar Devdas confirmed the matter.  Police and victim family sources said, Badar Khandaker was returning home from his brick kiln on a motorcycle on february 24 at around 6:00pm at Char Kalna area in Lohagora upazila .The miscreants halted him in front of T-Char Kalna primary school and hacked by sharp weapons over previous enmity and supremacy in the area. He died on the way to the hospital. 

Lohagara union parishad chairman Nazrul Shikder has been made the main accused in the case. Besides, Nazrul Shikdar's elder brother Ibadat Shikdar, nephew Zakaria Shikdar alias Gaffer, nephew Abdullah Al Azad Sujan, cousin Enayet Shikdar along with 16 other accusing in the case.   Lohagora thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Alamgir Hossain said, six persons including Nazrul Shikder the main accused in the case have been arrested. 

The others arrested are-Motiur Rahman Munna Molla, Ruhul Amin, Rafiq Molla, Ali Mia Molla and Babu Molla. The OC said efforts were underway to arrest the remaining accused.
