A group of villagers staged demonstration on Gopalpur-Dangapara road in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur on Thursday, demanding repair of the road.
The demand came as the large pothole has developed on nearly 1-km long stretch of the Gopalpur-Dangapara road for the past four months, disrupting communication of people living in the nearby 10 villages.
A disgruntled local, Amina Khatun said she have seen many patients including pregnant women suffering while crossing the road in the last four months.

Local union parishad member Mostafizur Rahman Jewel said, "I do not understand why the authorities are not repairing the road." "The authorities may not notice the trouble unless you raise it to the media," local UP chairman Mominul Islam said.
When contacted, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Firujul Islam, said that necessary action would be taken upon completion of all formalities.
