The Jhalokathi district administration published a souvenir book focusing on life and work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking his birth centenary.
The cover unveiling ceremony of the book ‘He Pita’ was held at the auditorium of Jhalokathi Circuit House on Wednesday night. Local MP Amir Hossain Amu, a senior Awami League leader and coordinator of AL-led 14-party alliance, unveiled the cover of the book through video conferencing.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhalokathi Md Juhor Ali presided over the function, while it was attended, among others, by Police Super Fatiha Yasmin, district Awami League president Sarder Md Shah Alam and general secretary Advocate Khan Saifullah Ponir.
Celebration committee chief coordinator Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said major tasks to publish the souvenir are going on as the renowned personalities and writers have already submitted a bunch of write-ups commemorating Bangabandhu.
The souvenir book accommodated the write-ups, including articles, reminisces, poems and rhymes, on life and work of Bangabandhu.
