llegal Chinese fishing net seized in Jibannagar

A special task force operation in Damurhuda, Chuadanga, has led to the seizure of a large quantity of illegal China Duari fishing nets. 

The operation was conducted on Thursday from morning until early afternoon in the villages of Bishnupur, Jurarnpur, and Nothipota.

Assistant Director of BGB Chuadanga-6 Battalion, Haider Ali, confirmed the news via a press release issued. According to the release, intelligence reports indicated that illegal China Duari nets were being stored in those villages. Acting on this information, a special raid was carried out from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The operation was jointly led by Haider Ali along with one platoon of BGB personnel, Damurhuda Assistant Commissioner (Land) K.H. Tashfiqul Rahman, Assistant Fisheries Officer Faruq Mohaldar, and local police.

During the raid, 100 illegally stored China Duari nets worth approximately BDT 1.5 million were seized and destroyed in the presence of the task force officials.

BGB has reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against smuggling, illegal stockpiling, and environmentally harmful materials within its jurisdiction.
