The Livestock Service Week and Exhibition was inaugurated in Narail with the theme "Bharabo Desh, Gorbo Sonar Bangladesh" on Thursday. In order to increase the production of livestock and ensure the supply of animal meat for the public the exhibition was held in Narail Sadar Upazila Livestock Office and Veterinary Hospital premises.
Deputy Commissioner of Narail Mohammad Ashfaqul Haque Chowdhury was present as chief guest. Narail Sadar upazila Administration, Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital jointly organised the exhibition in collaboration with Livestock and Dairy Development Project. Sadar UNO Sharmin Akter, Sadar Upazila Chairman Nizamuddin Khan Nilu, Narail Municipality Mayor Anjuman Ara, District livestock Officer Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Rokonuzzaman, government officials, dairy farm owners were present on this occasion. In this exhibition, 20 stalls were arranged where animals and birds including cows, goats, horses, pigeons were displayed.
Certificates and checks were distributed among the successful farmers on the occasion.
District Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman said that this exhibition has been organised with the aim to crest employment for the unemployed by setting up new animal and poultry farms.
Panchagarh Correspondent reports: The Livestock Services Week and Exhibition was inaugurated at Kaliganj Sukatu Prodhan High School ground in Debiganj upazila on Thursday.
The Livestock Department is working to ensure safe, adequate and quality protein demand for all.
Debiganj upazila Livestock Department arranged the exhibition programme under the Livestock Department and Livestock Dairy Development Project of the Livestock Ministry. Upazila Chairman Abdul Malek Chistee addressed the function as the chief guest. It was addressed, among others, by livestock officer Dr Saraban Tohura, social welfare officer Golam Azom, fisheries officer Raton Kumar Barman, Dandapal UP chairman Azgor Ali.
UNO Md Sariful Alam presided over the function. Livestock extension officer Dr Newaz Sharif conducted the programme.
The week will continue till April 22. A total of 37 dairymen took part in the exhibition.

A discussion was held on the occasion in Sadar upazila Parishad Livestock Office premises this morning. Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md Saiful Islam, Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, MP took part in the discussion as chief guest. Police Super Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, Upazila Chairman Abu Sufian Shafiq, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Firoja Parveen, Veterinary Officer Dr Abdur Razzak and Dr Mohammad Sarwar Hossain were present among others.
