Livestock exhibition begins in Netrakona

A three-day livestock exhibition has begun in Netrakona district on the livestock office premises on Wednesday.

Netrakona District Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital and Poultry Farm Project (LDDP) jointly organised the 'Livestock Exhibition-2022 this year.

Dr. Monoranjan Dhar, District Livestock Officer, Netrakona formally inaugurated the 'Livestock Exhibition - 2022. The inaugural function was presided over by Mahmuda Akter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Netrakona Sadar Upazila.

The programme was addressed by Sadar upazila vice-chairman Md Abdul Khaleq Talukder, Sadar upazila vice-chairman (Woman) Mrs Tuhin Akter, Sadar Upazila Livestock officer Dr. Rezvi Ahmed, Sadar upazila Youth Development Officer Gazi Mubarak Husain, Netrakona press club secretary M Mukhlasur Rahman Khan and on behalf of daily farms owners association Abdus Sobhan and others.

The inaugural function was conducted by Dilroba Jahan, Monitoring officer of Dairy Development Project (LDDP).

A total of 25 stalls have been set up in the Livestock exhibition. 

Different pet birds and domestic animals are shown for visitors. Livestock Exhibition -2022 showcased high yielding Holstein Friesian cattle and Jersey cattle, advanced and indigenous breed of goats and sheep, local species of cows, Quail and fancy pigeons. Yogurt, milk, ghee, butter and a large variety of delicious food made from milk and meat, improved livestock technology, biogas and bird food were also exhibited in the function. Officials of different district and upazila level, locals, dairy farms owners including local journalists were present on the inaugural function of Livestock exhibition-2022.
