Litton flies to join Shakib in LPL

Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Litton Das revealed his departure for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) via a Facebook post on Saturday.

The Galle Titans, who are at the bottom of the standings with four points after six games, will welcome the 28-year-old with his countrymen Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Mithun.

Litton has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the competition's remaining stages, which will last till August 20.

Shoriful Islam, another cricketer of Bangladesh team is in Sri Lanka to play LPL. He went to Sri Lanka to play for Colombo Strikers. But has not played any match yet.

On the other hand, Towhid Hridoy returned home after playing 6 matches for Jaffna Kings. Now it's Litton's turn. Litton was called up for the first time in this Sri Lankan tournament.

Four of the five contending teams will advance to the playoffs.

Litton recently played in the Global T20 Canada tournament and becoming a regular face in the franchise league. 

The 5-team LPL started on July 30 and will continue till August 20. At this time, the Bangladesh team will prepare for the Asia Cup. Bangladesh team is not getting Shakib, Litton and Shoriful in that preparation. They are supposed to join the camp after the LPL.

Current ODI vice-captain Litton was in the ODI captaincy race along with other few names but the Bangladesh Cricket Board felt there is no one better than Shakib al Hasan in dealing with the pressure of a big tournament like World Cup.

Litton showed full support for Shakib and now they will play in the same franchise team as well.
