A madrasa student was killed by lightning while watching a football match in Karimganj upazilaofKishoreganj. Four more people were injured in the incident. The incident took place at Indachulli village of Karimganj upazila on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Md Asadullah (7) of Karimganj upazila. The injured have been identified as Shafiqul Islam Shabil, Asim, Sajid and Anik. According to the locals, Asadullah came to visit his uncle's house in Indachulli area.
The injured, including Asadullah, were watching a football match at Indachulli Haor. At one point in the game, their bodies were suddenly struck by lightning. Later, the locals rescued them and took them to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared the child Asadullah dead. The injured are being treated at the hospital. Karimganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md.Mominul Islam confirmed the incident.
