RAB-11 has arrested a fugitive sentenced to life imprisonment in connection with the 2014 murder of Rubel in Risherchar village, Araihazar, Narayanganj. The murder occurred on 1 October 2014 following a land dispute. Rubel was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and iron rods in front of his home. His wife later filed a murder case with Araihazar Police Station.
After a lengthy trial, the court issued an arrest warrant against the accused. Acting on intelligence and technological surveillance, RAB conducted a joint operation and arrested the convicted fugitive, Md. Rubel (24), from Shahadat Mia's house in Bagbari, Araihazar, at around 3:00 AM on 10 July.
He has since been handed over to Araihazar Police for further legal proceedings.
