Iqbal Hossain Opu, Member of Parliament of Shariatpur-1 constituency inaugurated four connecting culverts (bridges) and two concrete roads at Jajira under Shariatpur district on Sunday and Saturday.
MP Iqbal Hossain inaugurated a concrete road built at a cost of Tk. 22 crore on Sunday (Nov-12) and four more connecting culverts and one concrete road on Saturday as the Chief guest at a function held at T&T Crossing area of Jajira. People of the area expressed their jubilation after the inauguration of the bridges and the roads. They expressed their gratitude towards Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and MP Iqbal Hossain for the works.
Iqbal Hossain Opu during the inaugural function of the bridges said some more connecting bridges will be constructed in Shariatpur to ease the movement of people which is the main aim of Awami League.
Addressing the BNP, MP Iqbal Hossain Opu said, the development and progress being conducted by Sheikh Hasina cannot be hampered through arson-terrorism. People of the country have rejected the anti-state, conspirator BNP. People of this country have not forgotten the misrule of the BNP and Jammat. The word 'Democracy' does not sound good in the voice of BNP. They have plundered assets of the country while they were in power and sent those abroad. And, now not being able to remain in power, they are killing people in the name of movement. This is the politics of BNP. People of this country will not further vote for the BNP to power.
He further said that BNP-Jamaat were destroying the development of the country and the Government of Awami League is continuing development activities of the country for the welfare of the people.
Among others, the Superintending Engineer of LGED Headquarters Engineering Jasim Uddin and the Executive Engineer of LGED, Shariatpur Shahjahan Farazi were present at the function.
