To make the roads in rural and urban areas of the district safe, the police in Jhenidah have been removing the LED light, hydraulic horns from three wheelers like easy-bike, rickshaw and rickshaw vans. They have been also seizing unlicenced motorbikes As a part of the programme, the police had conducted drives at Moheshpur town headquarters and Khalishpur on Saturday.
Traffic police inspector Kazi Hasanuzzaan when contacted, said he along with inspector Gauraga Paul had conducted drives to remove the unauthorized and hazardous LED lights and hydraulic horns from the so called three wheelers.
About 150 such unauthorized accessories were removed from the three wheelers and the truckers. They were warned to remove their trucks from the roadsides liable for severe traffic congestions. The traffic police also seized 10 motorbikes which could not produce any valid documents to the police.
Superintendent of police in Jhenidah Mohammad Hasanuzzaman when contacted said they have been conducting this sort of drives throughout the district to ease the traffic congestions and make the journey of the ordinary roads and highways safe and hassle-free.
It will also reduce the road accidents in near future. Those who park their trucks and other vehicles were warned for the first time and they must come under police network, liable for traffic congestions. He urged the people to extend their hands to stand by the law enforcers against the discipline violating persons.
