LDEG Chief Engineer pays tribute to Bangabandhu in Gopalganj

Newly-appointed Chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Md. Ali Akhter Hossain, paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum in Tungipara, Gopalganj on Saturday.

After reaching Tungipara at noon in Saturday, Md. Ali Akhter Hossain placed a wreath on the mausoleum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and paid deep respect to his memory. After reciting Surah Fatiha and Darood Sharif, he prayed for the souls of Bangabandhu and his family members who were killed on 15th August, 1975. He also prayed for the health and long life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Those present at the time include Additional Chief Engineers of LGED Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Md. Nurul Huda, Md. Abdul Rashid Miah and Gopal Krishna Debnath, Superintending Engineer (Admin) Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Superintending Engineer (Audit) Mohsin Uddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Project Director A K M Fazlul Haque, President of Gopalganj Zila Awami League Mahbub Ali Khan, Project Director of LGED Gopalganj Md. Abu Syed, Executive Engineer Md. Ehsanul Haque, Senior Assistant Engineer Md. Habibur Rahman, General Secretary of Tungipara Upazila Awami League Md. Babul Hossain and other local leaders and officers.

After paying tribute, Md. Ali Akhter Hossain wrote comments and signed on the preserved book in the Bangabandhu building. Afterwards, he visited the Patgati Launch Station and LGED’s canal-digging project adjacent to Bangabandhu’s mausoleum. He attended a discussion program headed by Executive Engineer Md. Ehsanul Haque on the progress of LGED’s running projects. After that, he planted a tree on the grounds of the office campus of LGED Gopalganj. In the afternoon of the same day, he participated in a meeting in Kotalpara with local representatives, leaders and notable figures to discuss development-related activities. He was congratulated cordially with flowers by Executive Engineer Md. Ehsanul Haque.

Md. Ali Akhter Hossain was appointed as Chief Engineer on 26th September by the President of Bangladesh, replacing Chief Engineer Sheikh Mohammad Mohsin.
