Law must be enforced strictly to stop violence against women

Speakers at a views-exchange meeting said if the existing law relating to women and children repression prevention is applied strictly and properly on criminals, repression and violence against women and children would be reduced undoubtedly.

They called for applying the law properly to stop violence against women and children in the country. 

Jonouddug, a non-goverment organisation, arranged the views-exchange meeting  with local journalists and elite persons on women and children repression at Netrakona Cress Club on Wednesday. 

Mursheda Khatun, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP-Sadar circle), attended the programme as the chief guest, while Rasel Ahmed khan, Special Public Prosecutor,  Khandaker Anisur Rahman and Advocate Abdul Hannan Ranjan  Vice-president of Netrakona Press Club, and Councillor Shimul Chowdhury attended the function as special guests.

Veteran freedom fighter Haoder Jahan Chowdhury presided over the event while Babu Shyamalendu Paul of Jonouddug conducted it. Udichi President Mustafizur Rahman, freedom fighter Advocate Habibur Rahman, journalists Kamal Husain, Lavelu Paul Chowdhury, AKM Abdullah and Shilpi Bhattacharya addressed the event, among others. 

Mursheda Khatun in her speech said that police are trying their best for reducing the number of the incident of rape, kidnapped  and other women repression related cases.

She assured that the existing law relating to women and children repression cases would be applied properly and strictly to combat such incident in the society.
