Police recovered the body of another victim of fire on launch ‘MV Abhijan-10’ from Bishkhali River at Kishtakathi village on Monday morning.
The locals found the body floating in the river this morning and informed the police about the matter. Later, police came to the spot and recovered the body around 9 am. Burnt marks were found on the abdomen of the body, said Khokon Hawladar, sub-inspector of Jhalakathi Sadar police station.
However, his identity has not been confirmed yet, he said.
Fire Service and Coast Guard members are conducting rescue operations in Sugandha and Bishkhali rivers for the fourth consecutive day. With the recovery of the body, at least 41 people were killed as a fire broke out on a launch while it was heading towards Barguna on early Friday.
