Land ministry contributing to economic development

The land ministry is sincerely fulfilling its responsibility for economic development of the country, adding that land is one of the most important elements in the country’s investment and development.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury came up with the remark while addressing a session to domestic and foreign investors on Economic Zones at a two-day Bangladsh Investment Summit 2021 organized by Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) of Prime Minister’s office at a hotel in the capital on Sunday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually inaugurated the two-day investment summit to attract foreign investment in the country. 

Land Minister also informed foreign investors and expatriate Bangladeshi investors that Bangladesh has been one of the top five resilient economies in the world during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the IMF.

Saying that the Foreign Direct Investment is imperative to inclusive economic growth, Saifuzzaman Chowdhury informed that for that reason government of Bangladesh is giving lots of excellent incentives to foreign investors. In his speech, he urged them to invest in Bangladesh.

The World Bank Country Director for Bangladesh and Bhutan of South Asia Region Dr. Mercy Miyang Tembon said that the Bangladesh government's efforts to attract foreign investment are creating jobs in country that are accelerating poverty reduction.
