Ladies club in Jhenidah have distributed warm clothes among the cold hit poor women in on Tuesday afternoon in the town. The programme was taken to give some relief from the severe cold wave by distributing blankets to protect the distressed and elderly women.
Shymali Rani Nath, president of the club, also wife of deputy commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath, Jhenidah Sadar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Badruddoza Shubho, vice president Rosy Ahmed, sports Secretary Shahrina Akter, woman vice chairman of Jheniidah Sadar upazila Arati Rani Datta, member Ritu Das, Selina Rahman Mina, Namita Bhowmik, Rasheda Khanam among others present during the blanket distribution programme.
Having the warm blankets during the cold wave, the women said it was blessings for them that will protect them from severe cold. More and more activities like this one, might help give some relief for the poor and distressed people and children, they said.
