Kurigram journo still hospitalised

Journalist Ariful Islam, tortured and jailed at dead of night through a mobile court is still hospitalized in Kurigram Sadar Hospital. A fracture has been detected in his right hand through x-ray. He felt pain all through his body and was passing his days in apprehension.

Doctors of Kurigram Sadar Hospital said Ariful was provided with necessary treatment and all medical examinations. The hospital superintendent Dr Abu Mohammed Zakirul Islam said journalist Ariful has been provided treatment according to the specialist doctors’ advice. His physical condition is quite static at present.   

Meanwhile, an audio record between DC Sultana Parvin and Journalist Afriful went viral in social media on Tuesday. The record has provoked criticism among the commoners. In the record journalist Ariful asked DC Sultana Parvin whether he had done anything wrong to face encounter. In reply the DC said that actually they didn't have such intention like encounter.

Ariful expressed his concern about his future. DC Sultana Paevin said he need not be worried regarding his future. Ariful demanded return of the four blank papers he signed at the DC office blindfolded. DC Sultana Parvin assured that the allegation against him would be withdrawn and sought time from Ariful. 

Meanwhile, Mohammed Rezaul Karim, deputy secretary to the Public Administration Ministry has been made the deputy commissioner and the magistrate of Kurigram district. He has not yet joined his new post. A district administration source said new DC Mohammed Rezaul Karim might join his post in Kurigram on Thursday.

DC of Kurigram Sultana Parvin has been withdrawn from her post and made officer on special duty (OSD) on Monday on charges of being involved in illegally torturing journalist Ariful Islam and sentencing him.
