KU 6th Convocation today

The sixth convocation of Khulna University (KU) is going to be held today (Sunday).  The campus is ready to welcome President Md. Abdul Hamid and has become festive on this occasion. The campus has been decorated elegantly for the Convocation. The presence of former students have created a cheerful mood in the campus.

The convocation ceremony will be presided by KU Chancellor, President Md. Abdul Hamid. Educationalist and Sociologist Prof. Dr. Anupam Sen will attend as the convocation speaker.

A total of 7,008 graduates, post-graduates will attend the 6th convocation. Among them, 4478 are graduate students, while 2530 Post Graduate students, five M.Phil. students, 8 PhD  researchers, and 17 Post-Graduate Diploma in Education students. 

Ministers, Mayor, MPs, Secretaries of different ministry, vice-chancellors of different University, Deputy Commissioner of the division, Law-enforcement agency, local government bodies and noted educationalist are expected to attend the convocation.

Among them, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP, Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque, and University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah.

The programme will begin at 2.30pm. Graduates can collect their certificates after completion of the convocation ceremony.

In the convocation, a total of 23 gold medals will be distributed among students for their outstanding performance for academic results and contributions.

KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Fayekuzzaman said that all preparations for the convocation ceremony have already been completed. The overall security of the event has also been ensured.
