A court in Chattogram has issued arrest warrant against Managing Director (MD) of Project Builders Limited Engineer Aminul Islam and its Director Engineer Amin Farzana in connection with case over cheque fraud.
Judge of Chittagong Third Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court handed the order on Sunday.
Plaintiff's lawyer Sirajul Mostafa Mahmud said that two cheques of Tk 2 crore and Tk 95 lakh, which Project Builders Limited provided to the steel producing group KSRM, were dishonored in 2016.
Since the KSRM authorities failed to recover the money, they went to the court. He said Project Builders Limited had filed petition at the High Court against the proceedings of the case.
Advocate Mahmud said that although the court fixed November 19 to record the witness deposition. As they the accused did not appear in court on that day the court issued arrest warrants against them, he added.
