Newly elected executive bodies of Khulna Press Club (KPC) and Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) on Monday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
They paid homage by placing separate wreaths at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu in Tungipara, flanked by Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque. Later, they offered munajat for the peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu, Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib along with other family members who was assassinated in the black night of August 15, 1975. President of Khulna Press Club S M Nazrul Islam, General Secretary Mamun Reza, President and General Secretary of KUJ Faruk Ahmed and Asaduzzaman Reaz, ex-KPC and KUJ president Mokbul Hossain Mintu, Sheikh Abu Hasan and SM Zahid Hossain, ex-general secretaries Md Saheb Ali, Mallick Sudhangsu and Mozammel Haque Howlader, among others, attended the programme.
Meanwhile, KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque paid homage by placing a wreath at the mausoleum.
