Dr. Junoh Kim, a renowned Korean cosmetics expert with more than three decades of experience in cosmetics research and development (R&D), has joined Coslab Personal Care Limited, the manufacturing company behind Bangladeshi skincare brand skin’O, as a consultant.
Dr. Kim will work with Coslab to strengthen its R&D capabilities and help develop advanced formulations, innovative products and technologies to international standards.
With more than 30 years of experience in cosmetic formulation, cosmetic ingredients, advanced delivery systems, nanotechnology and technology innovation, Dr. Kim has held key research and leadership positions at leading Korean beauty companies, including AMOREPACIFIC, Intercos Korea, Shinsegae Intercos Korea and Shinsegae International.
Dr. Kim began his career at the AMOREPACIFIC R&D Center in 1993, where he spent approximately 22 years working on advanced skincare formulations and innovative cosmetic ingredients. His research has included nanotechnology, liposomes, polymeric micelles, nanoparticles and transepidermal delivery systems, contributing to the development and performance of functional skincare products.
AMOREPACIFIC's well-known beauty brands include Innisfree, COSRX, HERA and LANEIGE, among others.
Dr. Kim later served as Head of R&D at the Innovation Center of Intercos Korea and Head of Advanced R&D at Shinsegae Intercos Korea. From 2020 to 2025, he served as Senior Vice President of Shinsegae International, where he led technology strategy, product innovation and advanced R&D initiatives. He currently also works as a technical advisor.
Dr. Kim holds a PhD in Polymer Engineering from Seoul National University, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in Chemistry from Sogang University. His research and innovation work has resulted in more than 30 international scientific publications and over 60 patents.
For nearly a decade, he has also lectured at various universities on cosmetic science, advanced cosmetic ingredients, functional cosmetics and delivery technologies.
As a consultant to Coslab, Dr. Kim will work toward developing the company's R&D team into a world-class cosmetics research and development team. His extensive international experience and technical expertise are expected to support advanced research, innovative formulations and the development of internationally competitive cosmetic products in Bangladesh.
As part of this initiative, Coslab aims to further strengthen cosmetics R&D capabilities in Bangladesh and create advanced technology-driven products locally, with the long-term goal of expanding into international markets.
Dr. Kim will work with approximately 20 chemists and pharmacists across Coslab Research Center's offices in Dhaka and Seoul. In addition to skin’O, Coslab currently conducts research and manufacturing for several brands, including Innsaei, Daily Bath and Inbeauty.
The appointment is expected to further strengthen Coslab's R&D capabilities and contribute to the development of Bangladesh's growing cosmetics and personal care industry.
