Kings face Dhaka Abahani today

Reigning champions Bashundhara Kings, in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), will confront Dhaka Abahani at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday. The Kings side has 10 victories and one draw in 11 outings under their belt. They have not loss any match yet. 

The Kings have 31 points in their bags. It will be their last proceedings of the first round and they are hopeful of a victory. Captain Tapu Barman predicts that his side will win the match and will remain unbeaten in the first round. Bashundhara scored 15 goals in their last five encounters and conceded only two goals. They earned a big win over Arambagh by 6-0. 

On a phone conversation with our sports correspondent Topu Barman said, ‘Bashundhara Kings performed well from the beginning of the tournament and their confidence grew match-by-match on the back of four months of pre-season preparations. The team was also excited to play football after a long gap due to the coronavirus. That's why every player is determined to prove themselves on the field.’ 

Meanwhile, skipper Nabib Newaj Jibon’s title contenders Dhaka Abahani won six outings and are in second position with 22 points from 10 matches. Abahani won three out of their last five outings. They scored 13 goals and conceded only four. It will be a crucial match for the Dhaka outfit, and if they win then they will be able reduce gap with Basnundhara Kings to a six-point different in the league table.
