Former champions Bashundhara Kings and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play their respective second match in the Federation Cup at different venues in the country today.

Bashundhara Kings will take on Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited at 3:00 p.m. at Sheed Bir Sreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Munshiganj in a Group C match while Sheikh Jamal DC will face off Bangladesh Police FC at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium, Gopalganj in Group A at 3:00pm.

The Kings won their first outing against Fortis FC by 1-0 at Gopalganj on December 26, 2023. Their Brazilian forward Dorielton Gomes scored the lone goal of the match to salvage the favourites.

Bashundhara Kings will try to confirm their place in the last eight with winning today’s match against Sheikh Russel KC.

Bashundhara Kings are now on the top of the table in the group after obtaining three points from the first match and Sheikh Russel KC are at the bottom without any collection, as they suffered defeat to Fortis FC by 3-1 in their first match.

So, Sheikh Russel have no alternative way but win the match against Kings, who need only draw.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Jamal DC who are on the top position in the Group A, are confident to win the match against Bangladesh Police FC.

After two weeks, Sheikh Jamal DC are going to play at their home venue in Gopalganj. Sheikh Jamal’s coach Zulfiker Mahmud Mintu expects his team would overcome against Bangladesh Police to seal the quarterfinal berth.

Bangladesh Police FC also have a chance to book the quarterfinal place. They drew 2-2 with Rahmatganj MFS at Munshiganj on December 26, 2023, to manage one point from first match. If the match will finish on draw, both the teams will qualify into the quarterfinal.
