The 100 percent electrification programme at Kamargati village under Barakpur union under Dighalia upazila of Khulna was inaugurated by West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL).
The village came under 100 percent electrification programme on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through video conference on Tuesday.
Through the electrification project, 150 clients of Kamargati village, two mosques, madrasha and the irrigation pump machine would reach under 100 percent electricity supply coverage, said Abdus Salam Murshedi, Member of Parliament of Khulna-4 constituency during inaugurating the programme at the video conference.
MP Abdus salam Murshedi further said, incumbent, humanitarian Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledge bound to supply electricity in all villages of the country.
The quality of livelihood of the people of Kamargati village will enhamce further with the acessibility of electric supply for 100 percent families of the village which indicates that every village will turn to a town in near future.
He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Electricity Nasrul Hamid, Managing Director of WZPDCL Engineer Shafique Uddin for taking step to turn the village under 100 percent electricity supply coverage.
Managing Director of WZPDCL Engineer Shafique Uddin sajd, there was no electricity in Kamargati village for long 30 to 35 year.
With the project of the department of Electric supply and directives from the State Minister and specially by following the words of the slogan 'Ghorey ghorey Bidyuth' by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the WZPDCL officials and employees have been able to make the village completely free from the absence of electricity covering 100 percent of households even during this Coronavirus situation.
Presided over by Chief Engineer Mustafizur Rahman of WZPDCL, the functin was attended, among others, by General Secretary of local thana Awami League Molla AkramHossain, President of Barakpur Union AL Gazi Abdur Rouf and AL leader Selim mollik.
