With the slogan" Live green, save green, order the life with logic", the sixth Khulna divisional Debate Festival-2019 kicked off at the auditorium of Boyra Government Women's College in Khulna on Friday.
Organised by National Debate Federation Bangladesh, the function was inaugurated by Habibul Haque Khan, Additional Divisional Commissioner of Khulna.
Presided over by Professor TM Zakir Hossain, Principal of Khulna Women's College, the function was attended, among others by AKM Soyeb, Chairman of National Debate Federation and Dr. Mehedi Newaz, Vice-Principal of Khulna Medical College as special guests, Takdirul Gani, Moderator, NDF BD, Khulna, SM Shamim Rana and Al Aminur Rahman Akash.
Speakers in the function said, the debate competition helps to create leadership in a country and there was no alternative to debate in building enlightened people in society. The role of logical society was essential to lead the country to progress.
Through debate competition a student can enrich his talent and present himself as a transparent presenter. They further asked the students to refrain from the contact of drug because drug finishes life of a man.
In the function, Dr. Mehehdi Newaz was awarded with the Life Term Honour for his special contribution in education and debate.
Nearly 1,000 students from 50 educational institutions of Khulna division participated the debate festival.
