With demand from several humanitarian organization Khanpur 300 bed hospital in the Narayanganj city started providing treatment to corona infected patients from Thursday.
Earlier, the civil citizen and some organization had insisted on dedicating a hospital for giving treatment to corona patients as well as set up a PCR laboratory in the district to ease people’s suffering.
Although Khanpur Hospital is providing treatment to Corona patient but it has not installed any PCR lab yet. So, that the authority of the hospital are first collecting samples of patients and sending those to IEDCR for testing.
Superintendent of Khanpur hospital Dr. Goutom Roy confirmed that it will take more or less ten days to install the full-fledged PCR lab and then none in the district will have to wait for a report of Corona test.
Hospital authority asserted that a total of twenty five patients are currently taking treatment in the dedicated Khanpur hospital with sufficient isolation capacity.
According to district health department’s information, a total of 584 patients are infected with corona virus in Narayanganj of which 25 were cured and 37 died till Friday.
