Munir Hussain Khan, former director of KDS Group-Steel Division, KY Steel Ltd and KYCR Coil Industries Ltdin alleged that the KDS Group has been harassing him and his family filing false cases with fabricated and manipulated documents.
He made the allegation at a press conference at Chattogram Press Club on Tuesday. “The company implicated me and my family members in 28 cases. They have started filing the cases after 20 months of my leaving the company,” he said.
After serving one year in jail in these cases, he came out on bail recently. KDS Group filed these cases alleging that this former director embezzled Tk 600 crore during import raw materials for their factory and stole a car.
Munir Hussain Khan said, “Following the request of my friend- (Selim Rahman, managing director of KDS Group), leaving decent life in USA, I have joined KDS in 2007 to do something in the countrywhich is now in staking my life and also my family members.”
He also said. “My father, brother and wife did not do a job in KDS but the company also implicated them in the cases just to harass us. Moreover, the company spreads misleading information about my family floating advertisements in newspapers and holding press briefings.”
He called upon the KDS Group to give him and his family members relief from the false cases.
During the press briefing, his father harbour master of Chattogram port Muazzam Hussain Khan and brother Mehedi Hussain Sagor were present.
