KCC sacrificial animal market opens Sunday

The Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Authority has opened their lone cattle market at Joragate Bazar in complaisance with health rules on Sunday ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest festival of the Muslims.

KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated the cattle market. Speaking as the chief guest, KCC Mayor asked to law enforcement agencies to take action for setting up any other cattle markets in the city.

“Everyone should be wearing masks before entering into the market and to use hand sanitizer for disinfecting which has been kept in several points of the market, he said.

KCC Councilors, officials of the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), leaders of the civil society, among others, attended the function.

Several disinfection tunnels have already been set up in the cattle market to prevent community transmission of COVID-19. The cattle exuviate has been set up in accordance with the health rules. The market will be opened before the Eid-ul-Azha day.

The cattle market have all the modern management system including round the clock security surveillance through CCTV cameras, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, detection of counterfeit notes under the management of Bangladesh Bank. There would have all modern management facilities including effectuation (Hasil) in computerized system in the market.

There will be a round the clock treatment of veterinarians and visitors to the market, provision of food hotels in a clean environment, modern public toilets and 24-hour security with the help of magistrates, police and RAB.
