Kali Puja celebrated in Kishoreganj

People of the Hindu community celebrated Kali Puja and Dipabali festival amid festivity and religious fervour at Ulanga Raj Shakti Shankar Bindudham at Kamalpur village under Bajitpur upazila in Kishoreganj on Sunday.

Kali Puja was celebrated at various Mandaps in Kishoreganj District.

According to the tradition of Bindudham on the occasion of Dipabali, thousands of candle lights were lit in silence to seek the peace of the souls of their late patriarchs.

Nemerous people from different communities and professions gathered in those well decorated colourful mandaps. Political leaders, government officials and local elites were also present at that time.

Later, Dipabali was celebrated at the various puja mandaps in the town and different residence of Hindus through candle lighting.

Various programmes, including folksong were organised on Sunday night in this connection.

President of District Puja Udjapan Committee Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmic Dolon said all programmes were completed successfully with the help of law enforcing agencies and district administration.
