Police arrested Kazi Asaduzzaman Sahazada, Vice Chairman of Kalaroa Upazila Parishad in Satkhira, after warrant was issued against him in several cases.
Police arrested him from his home at Tulsidanga area in the upazila town on Tuesday midnight. Satkhira Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Gazi Salauddin led the operation.
The court issued the arrest warrant for different cases filed with police station and the court. During the raid, 14 motorcycles, some non-judicial stamps and checkbooks of various banks were recovered from Sahazada's house.
Kazi Sahazada is president of the Upazila Juba League and the organising secretary of the newly formed Upazila Awami League unit. He is the son of Sona Kazi of Tulsidanga village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalaroa Police Station Sheikh Munir ul Ghias said Sahazada is accused for various allegations. Legal actions will be taken regarding the illegal items recovered from his house.
