Jute warehouse, oil mill gutted by fire in Santhia

Two jute warehouses and one oil mill were burnt down in Bangram of Santhia, Pabna recently.

Eyewitnesses said that the fire originated from the oil mill first in the morning. The fire spread to the house when the mill's electric meter made a loud noise.  In no time, the fire spread to two adjacent jute warehouses, leaving a huge fireball. 

On informing the fire service, the fire service personnel reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. One by one, 5 units of fire service participated in extinguishing the fire.

It is known that 500 maunds of jute were stored in Bimal Sahar's warehouse and 1000 maunds of jute in Rubel's warehouse.  In addition, there were hundreds of liters of mustard oil and mustard in Jahurul's oil mill.   Locals believe that the goods of the three people were burnt to ashes. 

Sahib Ali, an employee of the oil mill, said that the fire started from the meter first.  Later it spread to two adjacent jute warehouses one by one. Deputy Director of Pabna Fire Service Zahid Hossain said that after receiving the news of the fire, he came to the spot and is working to control the fire.  So far the extent of the damage has not been measured.
