109th birth anniversary of late Chief Justice Syed Mahbub Murshed was observed in a befitting manner in the capital on Saturday. In this regard, a Qurankhani and fatehakhani was held at his grave at Banani in the capital at 10.00am and the Syed Mahbub Murshed Memorial Committee laid floral wreaths, said a press release.
In observance of the day, different socio-cultural organizations also arranged discussion meetings on the life of Justice Murshed. A luminary in the judicial field in South Asia and a respected figure in the political arena Justice Murshed had been described by intellectuals as “a Keeper of National Conscience”.
