JUST’s Alamin secures 3rd place in Dhaka Marathon

A student of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Alamin, has secured third place in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2022 21-km event (half marathon) on Monday. Alamin took 1 hour 14 minutes and 18 seconds to run 21 kilometers. 

This is Alamin's personal record in the half marathon. Alamin is a second-year student in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of JUST. Sohail Rana became the champion in Bangladeshi boys’ half marathon and Elahi Sardar won the second place.

Alamin said, “I dream of becoming a marathon runner. Some people are helping me. I want to go ahead with everyone's prayers.”

'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon-2022' was organised on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the independence.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan was the chief guest at the inaugural programme of the half and full marathon. State Minister for Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell and Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed were present as special guests at the programme.
