JUSC gets new executive committee

Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), a science-based social organization, has formed a 46 membered executive body for the next one year said a press release on Friday. Tarek Aziz of Chemistry department and Mustafizur Rahman Sonet of Physics department have been selected as the president and general secretary if the committee respectively. 

Presided by the president of 2019-20 session Shariful Islam, former president of the club Shahriar Kabir Shohag announced the new committee at the club's annual general meeting.

The former committee members handed over charges to the new committee members where Chief Advisor Prof. Shahedur Rahman, President of JU teachers association Prof AA Mamun, Prof Alamgir Kabir of Statistics department, Prof Shafi Muhammad Tarek and associate Prof Umme Salma Zohra of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department were present among others.

Upholding the slogan ‘Committed to explore the truth’, the club was established with the cooperation of few students of science faculty in 2005. The founding president of the club is Kamal Ahmed Chowdhury. JUSC has been regularly organizing scientific presentation, Workshop on science and technology, documentary show, magazine publication, national Math Olympiad at schools and colleges, promoting knowledge of science and technology among the students over the country.
