A central leader of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League has gifted closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in a temple in the southern Bhola district to strengthen the security of the Hindu worship place.

Dr. Ashikur Rahman Shanto, executive member of the central Jubo League, provided the surveillance equipment following the recent attacks on temples in different places of Bangladesh.

“We will take measures that protect communal harmony,” Dr. Ashikur Rahman, also an economist, later wrote in his facebook page.

On behalf of him, local Jubo League leaders handed over four CCTV cameras to Bhola district Puja celebration committee General Secretary Ashim Saha, and Sadar Upazilla Puja celebration Parishad General Secretary Shanto Ghosh.

They also conveyed the message of Dr Ashikur Rahman that more CCTV cameras would be provided to strengthen the surveillance system of all the major temples of the district.
