Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Prof Dr. Farzana Islam has received the 'Bangmata Honorary Medal 2019' for her special contribution to the education.
The medal was handed over to her at a discussion meeting and reception progrmame at the National Press Club in the captail on Thursday.
'Bangamata Parishad ' organised the event on the occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, mother of Sheikh Hasina.
Former Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, MP, was present at the event as the chief guest with Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, in the chair. Former Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun, and Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, MP, were present at the programme as the special guests.
