JU female students demand solution of seat crisis

Students of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall (BBFMH) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) formed a human chain on Tuesday on the university campus demanding immediate solution of their seat crisis.

Student of 2nd year (Batch 47) of formed the human chain in front of Old Register Building in the morning. ‘We have been suffering from acute seat crisis for eighteenth month, we will not tolerate anymore as it is a complete residential university campus but unfortunately I am yet to get my seat’, said Sabiha Mourin, a student of 2nd year of English Department and also the residential student of that hall. 

Pointing all the deteriorating condition of their health and mental condition, Zannatul Nayem Anika, said, ‘We are facing that crisis only for the continuous negligence of the university administration’. 

She urged to the administration to solve the seat crisis of the hall immediately.

While contacted the hall provost of BBFMH Professor Md Mujibur Rahman said, ‘We will start distributing their seats from tomorrow and hope that the crisis will be solved by 31 July’.  Around 70 residential students of the hall took part in the protest program.
