Joy plays dedicated role in building Digital Bangladesh: Palak

The Government ICT Officers Forum has celebrated the 51st birthday of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Information and Communication Technology. On this occasion, on the night of July 26 (Monday), the organization held an online discussion programme.

Speaking as the chief guest of the function, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the engineers of ICT Officers Forum under the leadership of Engineer Sajeeb Wazed Joy have played a dedicated role in building a digital Bangladesh. He said that the work of creating ICT cadre is going on. 

“We have become a middle-income country in the 50 years of Sajib Wazed Joy's middle age and hope that a prosperous Bangladesh would be built under his leadership in 2041”, he added

Dr Abdul Jabbar Khan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, who was the chief discusser at the event, said that for sustainable development, it is necessary to reduce the dependence on consultants in the ICT sector and utilize local talents. 

He drew the attention of policy makers to reduce the price of 4G devices by thinking of ordinary students. He reminded about the negative publicity about connectivity during the previous government and highlighted the government's initiative to provide optical connection to the union. He suggested introducing ICT cadre in the civil service to strengthen the hand of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT Advisor. He also emphasizes on creating digital content in Bengali.

Fahmi Golandaj Babel, a member of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said the digital revolution has taken place in just one decade, shocking the whole world. Millions of entrepreneurs have been created at the grassroots level with the help of Joy's digital vision.

In his speech, NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department, described Sajeeb Wazed Joy as a visionary and visionary leader. He said if the ongoing projects under the leadership of Sajib Wazed Joy are implemented, corruption will be reduced as well as the revenue of the government will increase. At the same time, people will get instant service "online" or at home instead of waiting "online". He said that the implementation of ICT cadre is in process.

Highlighting the political life of Engineer Md Abdus Sabur Joy, Secretary for Science and Technology of the Awami League Central Executive Parliament, the ICT adviser said the present generation has been shown the dream of a developed world. 

He expressed hope that Bangladesh would become a developed and prosperous country in 2041 by utilizing the 4th Industrial Revolution under the leadership of Sajib Wazed Joy.

Sharmin Afroz, Senior System Analyst of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and President of Government ICT Officers Forum, presided over the function. Engineer Ratan Chandra Pal, Programmer of the Ministry of Culture and Secretary General of the Government ICT Officers Forum gave a welcome address on the occasion. The program was attended by a programmer from the Department of Information and Communication Technology and a core team member of the Covid-19 Vaccine Management System Protection ASM Hosne Mubarak.
