Drug peddler-gang consisting of 40 to 45 members running narcotics trade for the last 20 years at Deobhog Banglabazar and its adjacent areas in the ward number 7 of Kashipur union under Fatulla model police station gave life threats to Narayanganj correspondent of the Daily Bangladesh Post.
These drug dealers headed by Raju Prodhan, Shaju Prodhan, son of Riaz Prodhan, and Afzal, son of Ebadul, resident of Banglabazar Prodhanbari kashipur union under Fatulla police station. These three criminals are wanted in 10-22 criminal cases including murder case.
The Daily Bangladesh Post has been publishing reports on the criminal activities of the gangsters for the last three days as the ringleader of these drug dealers was Raju Prodhan who was captured by Fatulla Police on July 5.
After a while his associates Afzal and others 22 to 25 reach this correspondent house being drunk and threatened this correspondent as they thought that Raju Prodhan was captured because of him.
When the correspondent contacted the officer in charge of Fatulla model police station Md. Aslam Hossain over cell phone at 12:23 AM in the early hours of July 8, when the OC assured him of taking measures in this regard.
The police officer who arrested Raju told this correspondent that he was requested by some cops on behalf of Raju. The criminal gang is even patronized by some local influential people.
