Journey to promote bicycle riding

Banker Rana Nazmul, cloth merchant Enamur Rahman Sohag and electronics trader Anis Hasan, all belong to Dhaka had started their journey on bicycles and touching the zero points at the borders with neighboring India. On first day of the three-day travel, the trio arrived in Jhenaidah at about 11am on Thursday from Darshana in Chuadanga. The objectives of this sort of travel were to promote bicycles among the people of all walks of life and protect the environment when most of the Bangladeshi people were leaning towards motorbikes throughout the country day by day.  When contacted the trio said all of them were very busy with their own business. But left houses on bicycles to make the habit of riding the bike where no fuel cost is charged. Further, it is environment-friendly and healthful. They have been making rest on the way and talking to the people on the roadsides requesting them to practice the same as they had been doing earlier. They saying that the people of the country riding motorbikes in near distances and least important work at home, office and elsewhere, should ride manual bikes to keep their health well. It also saves money of the low income and middle-class people. They were also requesting well to do family young men and women to help the needy and distressed people saving the cost of fuel for their motorbikes.

Rana, Sohag and Anis said they arrived at Darshana zero Point in Chuadanga in the morning and then started for Jhenaidah. They will start for Akhaura border zero point through Magura, Faridpur and other districts by Saturday. Approximate distance of the total area might be about 350 kilometres, they said. 

On the short time journey when the trio arrived Jhenaidah, some of the locals had offered them tea, while they had refused the same for their time constraints on the long run.
