Journalists in Dhaka have launched a forum to promote tourism in Bangladesh.
Abul Khair of Daily Ittefaq, is the President while Shahin Alam of Sangbad Pratidin, is the general secretary of the forum named ‘Journalists Forum for Promoting Tourism (Jfpt)’.
Mohammad Jahangir Alam (UNB) and Kabir Ahmed Khan (BSS) are the vice presidents while Sharif Mujib (Voice of America) is the joint secretary and M Umar Faroque is the organising secretary of the committee which was announced from a meeting on Saturday at a city hotel.
Other office bearers include: Abu Hossain Akhter Hossain (Citizen Times) finance secretary, Baten Biplab (Asian TV) office secretary, MM Badsha (Bangla TV) international affairs secretary, Atiqur Rahman publicity secretary, Kazi Shahidul Alam (Ajkaler Khabar) sports and cultural affairs secretary, And Jilani Miltan (Naya Diganta) social welfare secretary.
The nine executive members of the committee are: SM Abul Hossain (The News Times), Dipu Sarwar (Ekushe Tv), Alauddin Arif (Desh Rupantar), Asaduzzaman Biku (Purbanchal), Deepak Kumar Acharjee (The Independent), Nurul Islam Hasib (Bangladesh Post), Nadiya Sharmin (Ekattar Tv), Antara Biswas (News24 Tv) and Rabbi Ebne Siddiqui (Jamuna Tv).
Rafiqul Islam Ratan (Swadesh Protidin), Mollah Amzad Hossain (energy and power), Faruk Ahmed Talukder (Ajkaler Khobor), Rimon Mahfuz (Sangbad Protidin), Iqbal Karim Nisan (Gtv), Isarrraf Hossain Isa (Daily Sun), Mahmud Hafiz (Vromon Goddo) and Saiful Islam Montu (Ajkaler Khobor) are the advisers of the forum.
