Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Wednesday urged journalists to find out corruptions within ACC, the state anti-graft body. “Please inform us if you come across any instances of corruption of the ACC officials. We too commit mistakes. We do not want innocent people to be victim of our wrong deeds,” said ACC Chairman while speaking at the inauguration of the training on investigative journalism held at ACC’s headquarters at Segunbagicha in capital Dhaka.

Speaking about the ongoing cleansing drives, the ACC Chairman said searches for illicit wealth amassed through casino has yet not been finished. “These drives will not be influenced by anyone and the ACC has been working to identify all the corrupt officials,” he added. The ACC Chairman admitted that we are now gearing up to identify the ‘small fishes’ (corrupts) as grassroots people are often are being victimized by them.

He also mentioned that around 70 to 80 percent complains are exposed through media. “Without cooperation from the journalists, it would not have been possible to move forward the program.”
