With her physical disability, Jonika Rani is appearing in the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations by writing through legs from Nazipur Government College Examination Centre. She wishes to become a teacher in future and seeks special consideration from the Prime Minister and other elites of society for the fulfilment of her desire.
Jonika Rani is the elder daughter of Harendra Barman and Bulbuli Rani of village Gahli Deora under Mohadevpur upazila of Naogaon district. She also has two younger brothers named Bankim and Limon.
It is learnt, two hands of Jonika are paralysed from her birth. Watching high interest of Jonika about study from her early girlhood, her parents and guardians admitted her to Gahli Bilateral High School from where she passed her Primary School Certificate (PSC) examinations by writing through legs with 2.83 scores and in SSC examinations she passed obtaining 4.55 scores. Later she got admitted at Chowrat Shibpur Barendra Degree College and now appearing at HSC examinations from Nazipur Gov't Degree College examination centre.
At the examination hall, Jonika was seen to appear in the examination by sitting on a mat on the floor of the hall and to write on her answer script by holding her pen with the fingers of her right leg. Concerned on duty examination officers informed, they were taking care so that Jonika could finish her examinations successfully without any trouble.
Dipak Kumar, Principal of Chowrat Shibpur College informed, Jonika is very intelligent student and she attended her classes regularly. Her class- examination results were also very satisfactory. He hoped Jonika would earn a high score in the HSC examinations as well.
Jonika's father Harendra Barman informed, they feel very sorry for their daughter. Having seen very much interest in her study, he and his wife always encouraged her to continue her study and she wishes to become a government servant after the completion of her study.
