Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Mohammad Mominur Rahman said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to ensure that no indigent person in the society goes hungry during the severe lockdown.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the distribution of PM's gifts (relief) to 220 advocate clerks and floating shopkeepers at the gymnasium hall adjacent to MA Aziz Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Each packet of gifts contained 8 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 2 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of salt, 1 liter of soybean oil, 1 bar of soap.

The DC said the government has provided cash and relief assistance to unemployed clerks, floating shopkeepers, construction workers, transport workers, squatters, transgender people, destitute and destitute families as well as helpless families as long as there is a lockdown.

He also said that the gifts were being delivered to the homes of the lower and middle class people who are hesitant to seek help in public or call the government on 333 and send an SMS to them asking for help.
