JoBike, Bangladesh’s first bicycle sharing app, is going to start its experimental journey at Dhaka University campus from October 7 and the formal operation from October 16.

Student Transport secretary of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Shams E Noman said, "An experimental service will start from 7th October and around 100 bicycles will be launched from the test run day and later the number will be increased.”

“The fare for those bicycles will be kept at a reduced rate compared to other transport of the campus. It will cost Tk 2.5 for first 5 minutes then Tk 0.4 to be charged against next each minute", he added.

The whole project will be run under the name DU Chakkar. JoBike bicycle sharing app started its journey from the tourist hub city of Cox’s Bazar on January 2018.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) panel promised to introduce bike service at the university campus centering the DUCSU election, which was held on March 11.
