Jagannath University (JnU) has announced that they will be in the GST admission test in the upcoming academic year of 2023-24 with the other 23 general and science and technology universities.
The JnU VC Sadeka Halim has informed that there is currently no probability of withdrawing JnU from the GST admission test.
"The GST admission test is a timed process. Its not easy for any university to leave this system. We need to coordinate with the Ministry of Education and the UGC.
Hence, the UGC and the Ministry of Education have requested all the universities not to withdraw from the GST admission test system”, said the VC.
UGC did a meeting with the VCs of all the 24 universities on January 14 where the VCs were unanimous to stay in the GST admission test system and for transparency and answerability UGC will construct a committee, she said.
Sadeka Halim stated, "There is no obstacle in organizing the GST admission test.
It was revealed in the meeting that a committee will be formed soon to create a framework for organizing a single admission test for all universities under the National Testing Authority (NTA)."
Professor Sadeka halim believes that to make the GST admission test system more effective all the universities have to be united in a point.
